PC Nelson Communications offers training led by experienced editor and trainer Pamela Blackburn Nelson. She has more than 35 years of editing, teaching and coaching experience and has conducted training for professionals and students.

Her sessions can be tailored to the organization's needs and range from 90-minute games to longer hands-on sessions that focus in depth on language or editing.

Grammar, usage and word choice quiz show. This is a fast and fun game for teams of players with interactive buzzers and a dynamic game board.

Grammar and usage refresher for communications professionals and teachers. This session lays out the most common problems in writing and gives participants the opportunity to practice recognizing and correcting them. This session emphasizes practical advice and offers hands-on activities.

Editing basics for student journalists or anyone new to publications. This session focuses on six components essential to good editing. Participants will learn to use a versatile checklist to ensure that all elements are present in any copy intended for publication.

Proofreading and cleanup. Learn how to spot problems and fix errors that can embarrass the writer or your organization. Participants will get hands-on practice and practical tips.

Headlines, subject lines and titles that work for newsletters and other publications. This session presents the strategy for getting articles noticed online and in print and offers tactics for coming up with the best titles to attract human eyes as well as search engines (search-engine optimization, or SEO).
